| Cubbies is a great place for your preschooler to learn that Jesus loves them! Each week they will do crafts, learn Bible verses, and hear stories told by Cubbie Bear and his friends. Cubbies leaders are trained in using the Total Teaching Time method, so every part of your cubbie’s night at AWANA will reinforce the biblical truth being taught.
But AWANA leaders can’t do it alone! As the parent of a Cubbie, your help is essential for your child to get the most out of AWANA. They need you to read their handbooks with them, teach them their verses each week, and to let them know how important it is to know about Jesus. So before you bring your child to AWANA each week, please take some time to go over the week’s “Bear Hug” with them and sign your name so we know that your Cubbie is prepared to learn along with his or her AWANA buddies. |

Cubbies Curriculum Outline The Cubbies curriculum features two handbooks written in a fun, storybook style that appeals to preschoolers. The handbooks contain 24 Bear Hug sections along with six optional special-day sections. Each section combines basic Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help a child grasp a simple biblical truth. Two extra-credit handbooks containing additional memory verses and character-building activities are also available. Before starting a handbook, newcomers to Cubbies are taken through an introductory brochure that gives parents and children a brief overview of the program and presents God’s plan of salvation at a preschooler’s level. In addition, all memory verses are presented at a level appropriate for 3- and 4-year-olds. For example, John 3:16 reads: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son…”
