Freshwater is dedicated to reaching people for Christ based on the
charge from Acts 1:8. We send teams to Haiti with key connections in
the areas of:
Church Partnership-Lot Carey Church, Leogane
Healthcare-FSIL Nursing School, Leogane
Orphanage- Operation Love The Children of Haiti (OLTCH) www.oltch.org
Our sister church in Leogane, Haiti is Lott Carey Church. They have 150-180 people attend the 2 hour service every Sunday. Through the week, the church is a grade school for ages 4-15. Lott Carey has been working with Freshwater Church since 2008. We have had a friend (Evens Joicin) from Lott Carey at Freshwater on a number of occasions. The pastor of Lott Carey church is Saul Hendricks. He has been their pastor for 18 years. When we visit Leogane, we go to church at Lott Carey. We have taught children’s church and sang songs. Pastor John Braland and John VanTassel from Freshwater have both preached at Lott Carey. You can see an aerial map of Lott Carey here.
At Freshwater we grow in our walk with God as we give and learn how
God can use us. Children in Kid City raise money for crafts. Men from
the men’s ministry work concession stands at Gopher Hockey and
Basketball games. Women’s ministry sells poinsettias and leads Bible
studies about missions.
The teams to Haiti have included members of our church from every walk
of life, including computer technicians, business people, nurses, 11
year old children, school teachers, missionaries, stay at home moms,
and administrative assistants.
Please pray that God will continue to grow and stretch Freshwater as
we seek to be salt and light to a people full of hope for a better
future.
